This lively scene by admired artist Bill Angresano is a beautiful detailed oil-on-board painting of a couple of horseback cowboys in the midst of a longhorn cattle drive. From the leaves on the trees to the lasso in hand, Angresano spared no details and the painting caught the eye of publishers who saw it fit to grace the cover of Tim McGuire’s 2009 book, Texas Cowboys (tearsheet included). A very cool and timeless piece of Americana to own.
(The present work is published on the cover of Texas Cowboys by Tim McGuire (Berkley, 2009).From Bergenfield, New Jersey, Bill Angresano has been an illustrator for more than 20 years, and also turned to painting of figures, portraits, and landscapes. His route to that activity was circuitous as he also was involved in sports, served in the Marines, and was a buyer for the A & P Tea Company.
